So here is the honest version: the people who run the events keep the calendars, and these are the ones worth your bookmark. Every link here was checked on 17 September 2026.

Charlotte's Got A Lot — Events is the official visitor authority's calendar and the broadest single listing for festivals and large public events.

Charlotte Center City Partners covers Uptown and South End specifically — the densest square miles for anything happening.

Free things, reliably

Charlotte Mecklenburg Library runs free events across 23 branches — talks, children's sessions, workshops, job help. It is the most consistently underused listing in the city.

Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation lists events and facility closings, which is the half nobody else publishes. Worth checking before you drive to a recreation centre or a pool.

Arts & Science Council carries the cultural sector's own listings.

Arts and culture

• Blumenthal Arts — touring Broadway, theatre and music across its venues.
• Harvey B. Gantt Center — programmes and events.
• CLTure — an independent local publication covering music, arts and culture. Not an official body, and listed here as a point of view rather than a record.

Big venues

• Spectrum Center — concerts and arena events.
• Bank of America Stadium — non-football events at the stadium.
• U.S. National Whitewater Center — races, festivals and its own regular programme.

One honest warning

If you search for Charlotte events you will find sites that look like local guides and are not — abandoned domains, parked pages, and directories that have not been touched in years. We check the links on this page and we will keep checking them. If one of them breaks, tell us.
