A private mailbox — a PMB — gives you a street-style address rather than a PO Box number. Yours would read:

The shop publishes a short guide to getting that format right, and the advice is sound: use PMB or # and never "Suite"; keep the -I, because it belongs to the building rather than to you; and make sure every person or business receiving mail is named on the agreement.

Two ways to hold the mail. With Secure Cabinet, staff keep your mail behind the counter and hand it over when you come in — the cheaper option, and the one the shop says most people choose. With a physical mailbox, you get an assigned box you can open twenty-four hours a day. Either way, staffed help and package collection still happen during counter hours.

Packages. Mailbox customers can have deliveries accepted from all carriers, subject to the agreement and the current package rules, with arrival alerts by text or email. Two caveats the shop states itself: notification timing varies and is not promised to be instant; and this is a service for mailbox holders, not a standalone "receive my parcel here" option. Size limits, holding times and any related fees are not published, so ask before you have something bulky, valuable or signature-required sent there.

What it is not. This is not a scanning or online-mailbox service. Nothing is opened, photographed or emailed to you — you collect physical mail in person. If you want a mailbox you can read from another state, this is not it.

Signing up. Expect to do it in person, and expect it to be more formal than renting a locker, because federal rules apply. You will need two different current IDs — one government-issued photo ID and a separate one confirming your physical address, and the same driving licence cannot count twice — plus a completed USPS Form 1583, signed in front of an authorised member of staff or a notary. Call first: availability, and the exact ID rules, both change. Do not email or upload your identification or a completed Form 1583 to anyone, here or anywhere else.

Before you rely on the address. Every bank, licensing body, filing office and online marketplace sets its own rules about commercial mail-receiving addresses, and a good many decline them — a PMB is identifiable as one. Charlotte Mailbox says outright that it does not promise the address will be accepted for registered-agent service, government or driver licences, bank accounts, business filings or Google Business Profile verification. Check with the specific institution before you commit. That is the right advice, and it applies to any private mailbox anywhere.

Terms worth knowing. Plans run for six or twelve months, and the shop states the full term is paid upfront along with a separate setup fee — the monthly figures on its pricing page are comparisons, not a payment option. It also states that once a rental is activated it cannot be cancelled early. Forwarding is available as a paid extra arranged with you individually; no standard rate or schedule is published.
