Plan a Carowinds day around the rides your group wants, the ticket that covers your visit and the seasonal experiences operating on your date. Check individual ride requirements before buying, especially when children or access needs will shape the day.
Location and arrival
Carowinds spans the North Carolina–South Carolina state line; the park's Fury 325 description specifically identifies the ride's crossing between the two states. [source] The official directions page gives 14523 Carowinds Boulevard, Charlotte, NC 28273. [source]
Use the park's directions and map for arrival and the operating calendar for your date. Confirm vehicle parking and any separate event arrangement with the park when selecting tickets.
Choose the kind of day you want
| Main plan | What to check before booking |
|---|---|
| Coasters and rides | Individual ride requirements, current closures and ticket coverage |
| A waterpark visit | Carolina Harbor's operating calendar and entry arrangements |
| A family Halloween visit | The daytime event listing and age guidance |
| SCarowinds | Event admission, selected nights and the park's age recommendation |
| WinterFest | Current dates, included activities and separately purchased experiences |
The main park, waterpark and seasonal events should not be assumed to share identical opening times or admission arrangements. Choose your date and intended experience together.
Fury 325 and the park's history
The operator describes Fury 325 as reaching a height of 325 feet and speeds of up to 95 mph. [source] If it is central to your plans, use the ride's current page for rider requirements and the scheduled-closures page before departure. Availability can change. [source]
For a link to the park's beginnings, the operator says Carolina Goldrusher opened with Carowinds on March 31, 1973. [source] Its ride page is another option to compare by the group's interests and eligibility, rather than treating every coaster as an interchangeable ride.
Carolina Harbor
The park describes Carolina Harbor as its waterpark, with waterslides, wave pools and children's play areas. [source] Use the official waterpark page for its calendar and guidelines before making it the reason for your visit.
Check entry coverage, clothing and equipment rules, and how the waterpark plan fits with the rest of the day. The presence of a waterpark on a map does not establish that it is open on every Carowinds operating day.
Halloween and holiday visits
The operator publishes SCarowinds for seasonal scares and WinterFest for holiday activities. It also lists a separate daytime Tricks and Treats Halloween event for families. [source]
SCarowinds carries the park's recommendation against attendance by children under 13. [source] Read SCarowinds information and compare it with Tricks and Treats when choosing a family visit. For a holiday plan, use WinterFest to confirm the current program and any separate purchases.
Ride access and family planning
Carowinds publishes a Guest Accessibility Guide and directs visitors to Guest Services for individual questions. [source] Use that guide and the specific ride's requirements for your plan; park admission does not establish eligibility for every ride.
Read the current park policies, including its chaperone policy, before a visit involving minors. The policies themselves should decide your arrangements rather than a copied age or time rule in a travel guide.
For a different kind of family day, compare Charlotte with kids, the Whitewater Center or day trips from Charlotte.
Sources and limits
The linked official Carowinds ride, directions, waterpark, event, accessibility and policy pages were checked on October 3, 2026. Carowinds' old domain redirects to its Six Flags site. This is a guide to published visitor information, not a firsthand ride review. Ticket prices, opening times, waits, closures and event dates should be checked with the park.
